Here are some videos, essays, and articles that I wrote, filmed, and edited for various employers and at graduate school. I also took the photographs featured in the website banners, except for the portrait of me at the Lincoln Memorial on the ABOUT ME page.

Killer production, flashy flow, and innovative duets remain Nicki Minaj’s strong suits on her regal Queen, a compelling listen in nearly every respect. |

PI SIGMA ALPHA BLOG
As part of my ongoing internship at Pi Sigma Alpha, a national political science honors society , I've been interviewing various PSA members to learn what paths they have pursued since graduating from college. In this case, two alumni wound up reuniting as classmates at Emory Law School.

A JAB AT 'THIS IS POLITICS'The 2018 race for Texas' seat in the Senate was a battle that proved to be historic in terms of voter outreach and Election Day turnout. This essay analyzes the fascinating political duel between Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke, two very different candidates from the same on-the-rise state. (Midterm essay, "Political Campaigns & Communications Strategies," Fall '18, CCT, Georgetown University)
|
Both Cruz and O’Rourke share the desire to reduce their dependency on impersonal campaign tactics like micro-targeting and corporate contributions while demonstrating a concern for the variety of pressing issues currently facing citizens in Texas. |
THE SCIENCE OF JURASSIC PARKIn this final essay for "Global Science Fiction Cinema," I analyzed the scientific validity of the blockbuster franchise, concluding that entombed mosquitoes offer no viable path to resurrected dinosaurs, but that other methods of de-extinction and genetic engineering may be plausible. (Fall '17, CCT, Georgetown University)

The presence of special effects-aided dinosaurs in Jurassic Park has had profound impact on Hollywood cinema. Those same dinosaurs have similarly influenced scientific discussions over how such beasts might be achievable by means of emerging technology. The scientific background of one of science-fiction’s most prominent franchises is worthy of further scrutiny and evaluation. |
ON THE WATERFRONT ON-STEROIDS: THE RISE OF THE DISTRICT WHARFThis 20-minute documentary film explores the origins and significance of the District Wharf, a prominent mixed-use development on DC's burgeoning Southwest Waterfront. Created over the course of six months for a graduate school class on "Journalistic Content Production," I researched, wrote, edited, and provided the voice-over narration for this film. (Spring-summer, 2018, CCT, Georgetown University)

THE FORGOTTEN WARA film analyzing the tarnished legacy of the Korean War and the consequences we face when we do not commemorate our military past. (Final project, "Documentary Video Production," Fall '17, Georgetown University)

When we allow the memory of the Korean War to slip from our fingers, we allow all these important clues about the origins of the Vietnam War to slip away as well. |
THIS IS POLITICS
This project marks my first time experimenting with the "political remix video" form. I incorporated snippets of various televised speeches to make it seem as though today's politicians are introducing us to Washington, DC in the same way as the monsters in The Nightmare Before Christmas present Halloween Town at the start of that film. |

YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS THEATRE: Doc in a Day FilmfestOver the course of one weekend in Summer 2016, my team and I captured the essence of the exciting non-profit Young Playwrights' Theater, as well as the Southwest District in Washington which it calls home.

I looked at a lot of artists like, what’s his name, Leonardo and all those old Renaissance dudes…I hope to bring to Southwest hope and happiness because a picture kind of brings people’s spirits up. |
